China on Sunday sent a new communication test satellite into orbit from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province.
The satellite was launched by a Long March-7-A rocket at five minutes past midnight.
It was the 566th mission launch by the Long March Carrier rocket series.
The satellite will mainly be used for high-speed communication technology validation.
